Move down the bus song

Move down the bus

My teacher, Miss Grumby taught us yesterday,
To love all God’s creatures, especially the whale.
Sh doesn’t like wetas, but all pets are cool,
So just for today, we can bring one to school.

But Biggles my budgie has died of old age,
He’s flat on his back at the bottom of his cage.
My goldfish has drowned and been flushed round the bend,
So I'll have to make do with my African friend.

Move down the bus, Move down the bus,
Make way for me and my pet hippopotamus.
Just don’t make a fuss, squeeze in there please,
Till there’s a seat, he can sit on my knee.

My bat has gone batty, he hangs right  side up,
My dog wags his body, he’s a real mixed up pup.
My pet lamb got trampled by Henry the horse,
We had him last Sunday with peas and mint sauce.

Move down the bus, Move down the bus,
Make way for me and my pet hippopotamus.
Just don’t make a fuss, squeeze in there please,
Till there’s a seat, he can sit on my knee.

My hippo is happy and healthy and bright
And dad lets him sleep on my bed every night
He’s made of old denim and grey corduroy,
Sewn up by my mum, he’s my favourite toy.

Move down the bus, Move down the bus,
Make way for me and my pet hippopotamus.
Just don’t make a fuss, squeeze in there please,
Till there’s a seat, he can sit on my knee.

Move down the bus, Move down the bus,
Make way for me and my pet hippopotamus.
Just don’t make a fuss, squeeze in there please,

Till there’s a seat, he can sit on my knee.

WOW with AT

  • Each morning the children will record how they travelled to school. If they walked, scootered, cycled or used public transport they will earn their class a WOW!
  • The class with the most WOWs will win a trophy at assembly. If you live too far away to allow your child to walk, scooter or bike, then you can drop them on the corner of O'Halloran and Juliet or Angelo and Willoughby.
  • This will count as a walking WOW. Please encourage your children to take part by earning their class lots of WOWs! This will help decongest Willoughby Ave and keep our children safe.

- make sure students that are cycling or scootering wear a secure helmet.
- ensure an adult accompanies Junior school students.
- take home Junior school bikes and scooters before school starts.
